a sicky

Monday, January 28th, 2008

Unfortunately I was sick all weekend.  I went to class today, but it was definitely too early to do so.  I felt miserable.

I don’t like being sick.   In fact, I hate being sick so much that I hate it when people don’t use proper sick etiquette.  Your mom always told you to cover your mouth when you sneeze or cough.  Well, your mom was half right.  Cough or sneeze into your sleeve (I find the elbow pit the best).  Unless you happen to have antibacterial junk that you use immediately after, you are spreading your stupid sicky germs everywhere!!!!  Also, if you don’t have a tissue and you have to snuff it up every two seconds, please try and make it quiet, especially if you’re in smallish class.  I hear you everytime, and it annoys me beyond what you can imagine (besides the fact that it gives me a headache/urge to vomit as a result of my forced imagination of the movement of your fluids).  In general, if your sick and you are out in public, be courteous, for the love of God please be courteous.

Also, while I’m ranting I figured I would get a few other things off my chest…  If you’re about to turn, it does not do anyone any good if you use your turn signal after you are in the turn lane or a split second before you actually turn.  If you just so happen to be kind enough to turn it on altogether, please do it before you brake, that way I can get out of your lane or at least be warned that you may be stopping soon.  Lastly, tailgating is a necessary evil, when used properly.  Tailgating is a means of communicating with the person in front of you that you would like to go faster and they are in your way (either you want to go faster than the speed limit, or the person in front of you does not care enough about driving to know the current speed limit).  If the person in front of you cannot possibly go faster (like they are behind a stupid slowey), back the heck off.  Your intimate automobilic presence does not make me feel all warm and fuzzy, rather it makes me feel hot and angry (to one degree or another).  Please, do everyone a favor and just be patient, almost everyone wants to go faster, so don’t be a jerk.

Rants aside, I have a plethora of pictures I posted earlier that need to be linked in…

why not go for another?

How about something cheery…

I bought my dog a harness and a toy sled today. I took him to the park while he pulled the sled with a cinder block on it. Good times…

I had to break into my house on New Year’s Eve. Kristie and I went to get a movie and she didn’t bring her keys. We got back and realized that since I gave my house key to my parents while we were at ignite, it was still inside on the coffee table. Luckily I’ve gained plenty of weight since we got married which allowed me to bash my back door in. It did some decent damage to the frame, nothing I couldn’t fix without too much work. Unfortunately it broke the screws out of the door itself, rendering the door handle permanently unusable. (I’ll post some pictures of the damage later)

Classes start again on Monday. This semester should be a piece of cake compared to last semester.

Last Semester This Semster
Classes: 5 4
Academic Classes: 5 3
Credits: 14 12
Blow-off Classes: (yeah right) Indoor Soccer!

So I’m going to try and do things differently this semester (like actually get all 4.0’s). I’m going to try and spend more time with my smokin’ hot, undeniably beautiful, wife. I’m going to attempt to spend more time with friends (maybe some more food/hangout nights at the Price’s). I’m sure there’s more that I’m not thinking of right now, but we’ll see…

how is it possible?

It has been over a month since my last post, and even that post wasn’t very good.

I’m officially half-way into my break between semesters. This next semester won’t be quite so difficult compared to the last one. I have 3 academic classes as opposed to the 5 I had before.

I feel like I’m starting to become myself again. Even though that means some procrastination, waking up late, and doing one thing when I should be doing another.

Kristie and I are leaving early for Ignite since we are helping with it. I sure hope that I can actually do something. It seems like they might not really need my help.

Anyway, I procrastinated packing some of my stuff, so I have to go so we’re not late.

is it that long?

I can’t believe that it has been almost 3 weeks since I last posted.  I also can’t believe that after I get home from NC, I only have 2 weeks left of regular classes.

This semester has been so crazy.  I can’t wait until it is over.   I also hope that the next semester isn’t like this one.  I usually have so much that I’m thinking about and plenty feelings about life and relationships, but work and school have dominated my thoughts since the beginning of the semester.  I don’t really like it at all.

“The Office” ensares me… and other fine moments

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

So Saturday night after church I went to Nato’s pad.  We watched “The Office” for a while so I could catch up to the current season.  Before he took me back home he made me a DVD of the rest of season 3.  (Side note: I’ve always known it, but Nato is a great guy.  If you don’t know him well, you should.)  Yesterday I spent several hours watching episode after episode, whilst avoiding doing the homework that was looming over my head (procrastination, I will kill you!)

Also, my wife is smoking hot.  I realize this fact more everyday.  (She is more than just smoking hot, but I don’t have any more time left before class to talk about the rest)

the busy life

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

Well, my life has been quite busy lately.  I’m sure most everyone knows since I don’t really see anyone anymore.  I guess part of that is my fault since I don’t really hang out after church on Saturday night anymore.  I am just so much more tire lately since my sleep schedule is crazy and I’m waking up early most of the week.

On another note, I get to buy a new furnace for my house.  Not really the way that I was hoping to spend $1,700 of our emergency savings, but I suppose it will add value to our house and maybe save us some money on heating bills.  Then again, it’s not quite as expensive as the $2,000 dental work (aka root canal plus x-rays) that I will begin this Wednesday.  I’m really not looking forward to that pain.  I guess it makes me thankful that we had the emergency savings in the first place.

The good news though is that so far I am doing well in school.  I think that I am still in a really good position to get 4.0 in all of my classes.  I sure wish that I had completed school earlier when I didn’t have so many other responsibilities.

too much

Thursday, September 20th, 2007

I didn’t leave MSU till 10pm last night, even though I arrived at 12:30. I got here before 10 today. This week is school/homework-tastic.  I’m not complaining; I’m glad that I understand what is going on in my classes and that I’m getting my homework done.

fear

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

FDR said that “the only thing we have to fear is fear itself”.

There aren’t really any people that I’m afraid of (maybe Brett when he gets angry), and for the most part I’m not really afraid of many things. Lately though, I’ve begun to really fear failure. I’m afraid that I’m not going to do well enough in my classes. I’m afraid that I’m going to forget something for my job or for school.  I’m afraid that I might come short for a client and cause them to lose time or money. I’m afraid that I might not get something done on time for my job. I’m afraid that I’m going to manage my money incorrectly and end up in debt; unable to pay my bills. I’m afraid that I’ll never be completely victorious in the struggle against porn.

Are these fears legitimate? I can see the consequences of failing at any of these things, and I don’t think that I have any reason to believe that I will absolutely be successful in these areas; it is unknown. Chances are high that I will succeed in most of these, but I greatly fear that chance that I will not; and there is a chance.

appropo?

I was waiting for the bus back to the commuter lot today when I witnessed something fabulous.  A girl, who also happened to be waiting for the bus, beeped a “friend” using Nextel two-way on speakerphone.  I happen to think that two-way on speakerphone is not only rude, but just plain dumb.  This girl furthered my beliefs and thoroughly proved the dumb factor.

Here is snippets of the conversation (at least from what I can remember):

girl: hey, what cha doin?
guy: thinking about your hot ass rack.
girl: thanks, everyone around me heard that.

So, then she continued for another minute on speakerphone and then switched to regular phone.  Interestingly enough she decided to go back to speakerphone near the end of the conversation, where they talked about nothing for a minute and then the guy said something like “we’re gonna have sex soon” or “I can’t wait to have sex with you tonight”.

The only thing that would have made this better (or more deserving of a Darwin award) would have been if she had tried to cross the road at the end of the conversation and was hit by the bus.

hot or not

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

The answer is not. The question is referring to the classroom where my statistics class meets. Last week they had the ceiling fans on medium, and not all of them worked. Let me just say that I came out of the class very sweaty.

This week on the other hand, the ceiling fans are on high and then they have a few huge free-standing fans blowing like crazy in the doorways. It feels great.

The answer is also yes. It may seem strange at first, but I can’t wait till it starts to cool down outside. The reason for this is that a large majority of MSU girls like to wear clothes that make it difficult to keep my eyes open whilst sauntering about the campus. I’m gonna be honest, it’s hard as hell to keep up mental purity.

Finally, the answer is thirdly yes.  My blog design is NOT hot, and I’m getting tired of it.  Too bad I’m so busy that I don’t have time to create a new design.  Oh well…
